The Medieval Chronicles

  • The Old Stone House 336 3rd Street Brooklyn, NY, 11215 United States (map)

Part concert, part theatrical experience, Ensemble in Process presents The Medieval Chronicles which will take the audience through one's journey of ‘The Dark Night of The Soul’, weaving together a narrative of poetry, music and dance of the Medieval, Renaissance and Contemporary Eras. As we enter our own era unknown, join us for a celebration of some of the most beautiful and wise voices of the past and present as we seek to shine a little light in the dark. This will be our second performance of this program, as it was recently awarded the 2026 Brooklyn Arts Fund from the Brooklyn Arts Council.

The Medieval Chronicles features music by Hildegard von Bingen, Thomas Tallis, William Purcell, Adam de la Halle, Derek David, Brian Mark, Missy Mazzoli, and Bjork, with texts integrated by poets William Blake, Maya Angelou, Rumi, Dylan Thomas, and Dante, among others. Performances by Brian Mark, Allyson Clare, Seth Gilman, Rose Hegele, Suvan Agarwal, Carol Chave, and Nathaniel Grohmann. Additional performers TBA.  Narrated by Seth Gilman. Dancer: Rebecca Walden.
